Henry Moore
June 12th
Yorkshire, U.K.
We spent a full day at the Henry Moore Foundation where we explored the house, gardens and legacy of one of modernity’s most famous sculptors.
We visited Moore's family home, Hoglands, which houses his art collection and the curiosities that often inspired his sculpture.
Our visit included a fascinating walk around the vast grounds where sheep share the landscape with the famous sculptures. We enjoyed Moore’s monumental works as he intended against this bucolic backdrop, and there was plenty to discuss over a delicious lunch.
Having been sufficiently inspired by the surroundings we created our own photographic sculptures and memories informed by the picturesque surroundings and semi-abstract shapes of Moore’s work.
